Plant extracts
Plant extracts are made from plant parts and are very concentrated. They are a popular ingredient in cosmetics and also in hair care products and tints are often included plant extracts. Due to their strong concentration, they have an increased effect than decoctions of plants.
A plant extract is produced by a separation process in which the concentrate is released from the plant with the aid of a solvent. This concentrate is called extract. The process of extracting can be imagined as the cooking of the daily coffee. The coffee machine extracts and filters the aroma of the coffee and the result is a more or less strong coffee.
The solvents used are alcohol, water, oil or organic solvents. The important ingredients of the plant parts thus separate from the plant body and left over the concentrate. Many plants have a healing and nourishing effect, which is why plant concentrates are often used in cosmetics.
Plant extracts often form the basis in natural cosmetics. Its bioactive ingredients intensively nourish the hair, giving it a silky shine and elasticity. Plant extracts can be obtained from a variety of plants. Extracts of tea tree oil, lavender, stinging nettle, rosemary or wheat are often used in hair cosmetics. Plant extracts are usually well tolerated and ensure a well-balanced scalp. The hair is silky soft and easy to comb.
