BaBylissPRO Straightening Iron TITANIUM – Hollywood Hair made easy!
With the BaBylissPRO straightening iron TITANIUM, BaByliss has launched a new superhero for hair straightening. As soon as you unpack the appliance, you get the feeling (not only because of the colour) that you are holding a Ferrari among hair straighteners in your hand. Available in black and red, this piece of beauty lies well in the hand and looks very well made. The golden titanium straightening plates do not only look extremely noble, but are also supposed to provide very effective straightening due to the extremely good heat conductivity and the extra smooth surface texture. The ion technology additionally counteracts static electricity and the cuticle layer of the hair surface is smoothed. The hair becomes particularly shiny and smooth. Wow, that sounds exactly like what you want from a straightening iron! I am curious to see whether it really meets these high requirements and so I start with the practical test.
A heat protection cap is included in the scope of delivery, which on the one hand protects the device itself, but also ensures that any heat-sensitive surfaces on which it is placed after use are not damaged. Anyone who has ever had teenage daughters handle their straightening iron knows how much trouble such a protective cap can save.
After pressing the on/off switch, you can choose from five different setting levels to find the degree of straightening that suits your hair type. The following levels are available: 150°C for fine, coloured or brittle hair, 170°C for normal hair, 190°C for thick hair, 210°C for frizzy hair and 230°C for extremely frizzy, unruly hair.
The Test
I choose the lowest recommended level for my fine hair. Within seconds the titanium plates heat up, so it can start quickly. Thanks to the ceramic heating technology, the plates are heated constantly and evenly over the entire surface. I have to admit that I otherwise use slightly higher temperatures, as I found them more effective in the past with the straightening iron I use.
I am all the more surprised that the BaBylissPRO TITANIUM straightening iron immediately leaves a beautiful, soft smoothness when gliding gently through the generously proportioned hair strands. The weight of the appliance is very pleasant to handle, it feels valuable and allows a good grip. However, it is not too heavy, so that it should not become uncomfortable even with prolonged use. Within a very short time the appliance transforms my air-dried mop style into wonderfully smooth, shiny and super groomed looking Hollywood Hair. I am thrilled! Despite the relatively low temperature I have been able to achieve a really great result.
The 2.70 m long cable is also very pleasant, it really allows flexibility if - as is often the case - you don't have the plug socket exactly where you need it. Of course, this is also particularly useful for professional use. The cable rotates smoothly on the attachment on the device, so you can easily style from any angle. Speaking of professional: Thanks to the extremely smooth titanium plates, which are also highly resistant to chemical substances, the device is also ideally suited for professional treatments such as a keratin treatment or a Brazilian blowout.
By the way, for the chaos queens among us, who also tend to forget to switch off, the device has an automatic switch-off feature pre-installed, which automatically switches off the device after 72 minutes. So you don't have to jump up from dinner with your girlfriends and hurry home because you might have left the device on. Instead, it's better to relax and brush the shiny, smooth hair off your face, order another drink and enjoy the evening!
