Blond hair - the right care

Cool, shiny blonde hair is THAT what blondes want! However, most of us struggle with an unwanted yellow or orange tinge. From all the blonding, colouring and treatment, the hair is also usually very damaged and strained. The tips are dry and brittle.

Often the hair looks beautiful and shiny after a visit to the hairdresser. But how do you get this look?

I have a secret... With the right care and coordinated care products, every blonde mop of hair becomes an irresistibly beautiful blonde mane.

Here are my top 5 tips for radiant and healthy blonde hair:

1. Protect blond hair from the sun - avoid chlorine and salt water

Blonde hair and especially blond hair is very sensitive and needs special protection. Hair should never be exposed to the sun without protection over a longer period of time. The UV rays extract protective oils and moisture from the hair, which is already scarce for blonde hair. In summer, the hair can be protected with a cloth or a headgear, for example. It is best to use special products with UV protection to prevent your hair from being overstressed by the sun.

Chlorine and salt water should be used as rarely as possible to reach the blonde hair. Salt water makes the hair dry and brittle very quickly and is therefore particularly damaging to the sensitive blonde mane. Chlorine water can lead to an unwanted green cast in the hair. So also here - better avoid. Otherwise, tie up your hair or wear a bathing cap.

2. Fresh after a bleaching treatment the hair needs extra care

If you want to bleach your hair, you will not get any colour pigments in addition, but the colour pigments will be extracted. For this purpose the cuticle layer of the hair must be broken up. The hair is bleached so to speak. By this breaking up the hair is very sensitive and can quickly become porous and dull.

The hair is therefore heavily damaged when freshly bleached and needs a lot of care and above all moisture. In the first period after bleaching, you should definitely use a conditioner and preferably a hair treatment after washing your hair. The conditioner can also be left on for an extra long time. For example overnight. For all blondes: Care Care and again care! But very important - only with the right care. Otherwise it can happen that you over-care your hair and thus achieve the opposite of what you actually want.

3. Heat damages - use heat protection

Heat from the sun as described above, but also from styling appliances, damages the hair. You should fall back on high-quality and gentle alternatives here. The SteamPod 3.0 from L'Oréal Professionnel is such a gentle alternative. Here the hair is straightened and styled with steam. You can find more details here and here.

Never set the hair dryer too hot, rather let your hair dry briefly and then blow dry at a gentle temperature. It is best to always use heat protection anyway. Heat protection is usually available as leave-in care, which is comfortably applied to the hair after washing and does not need to be rinsed out.

4. Use oil for dry tips

A hair oil can help to care for especially dry ends. The bleached hair, which is attacked by the bleaching process and exposed to all harmful external influences in the course of hair growth, is usually very stressed at some point in the tips. A hair oil can give the tips back the necessary care and provide an irresistible shine.

5. Cut regularly to avoid splitting

For the reasons just mentioned, not only do dry peaks occur, but often also split ends. What is split ends? The ends of the hair begin to split, this creates a messy, uneven overall appearance of the hair and, if in doubt, will eventually cause the hair to break completely. The solution is a regular cut at the hairdresser's, because split ends can be easily removed by cutting the ends.

My product recommendations for a cool blonde

One of the biggest problems for me is the unwanted yellow tinge in my hair.

For this problem there are so-called silver or violet shampoos, which contain violet or blue-silvery colour pigments and cover the reddish-yellow pigments like a veil. With regular use, this effect can be retained in the hair. It is best to apply only every second hair wash so that the violet pigment parts do not outweigh at some point and the hair shimmers purple. However, I use my products every time I wash my hair and I get along with them very well.

My personal favourite products are the products of Kérastase Blond absolu. Since I have been using the shampoo, conditioner and mask, I have my long desired cool and greyish blonde.

KÉRASTASE BLONDE ABSOLU

The series Blond Absolu by Kérastase is an individual hair care for blonde hair and for every blonde tone. No matter whether blonde, streaked or dyed hair. The hair fibre is built up and the unwanted yellow tinge is counteracted with the help of ultraviolet pigments. The result is a radiant, cool blonde and a well-groomed hair structure.

The series consists of five products, these are a conditioning and moisturizing shampoo Bain Lumière, a Violet Shampoo with pigments against the yellow tint Bain Ultra-Violet, a conditioner Cicaflash and a hair mask Masque Ultra-Violet also with violet pigments. The leave-in care Cicaplasme is an intensively regenerating serum for moisture and strengthened hair.

L'ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL SE BLONDIFIER

The Blondifier series from L'Oréal Professionnel gently cleanses and removes unwanted colour reflections. Enriched with acai berry extracts containing violet pigments, the products have a neutralizing effect on the hair. The yellow tinge is removed. Residues are dissolved and the hair is given back its full luminosity. The hair gets shine and is straightened from the roots to the ends. A cool, clear blonde effect is the result.

The series consists of eight products. A Shampoo SE Blondifier Cool with violet pigments and a Shampoo SE Blondifier Gloss without pigments. A Conditioner SE Blondifier Conditioner and a Hair Mask SE Blondifier Mask. The series also includes the Power Shots SE Blondifier Cool Blonde Shot and SE Blondifier Sun-Kissed Blonde Shot and the matching intensive hair treatments SE Blondifier Cool Blonde Perfector and SE Blondifier Sun-kissed Blonde Perfector.

REDKEN COLOR EXTEND BLONDAGE

Redken Color Extend Blondage products consist of a composition of ultraviolet pigments and a triple acid protein complex. This combination tones, strengthens and lightens the hair. The hair is repaired and matted at the same time. The Acid Protein Complex strengthens and invigorates the hair from within. A true all-round talent and the result is a bright and strong blonde.

The series consists of three products. The shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. The products are suitable for daily care and also give a beautiful shine.
