Greasy root, dry tips
Have you just washed your hair and a short time later you have the feeling that your hairline looks greasy again? Many women suffer from the problem that their hairline quickly becomes greasy, but the ends of their hair are dry.
Correct hair washing for a healthy scalp
More frequent washing is not the solution for oily scalps. This is because the surfactants contained in the shampoo tend to dry out the hair and the hairline produces sebum more quickly in order to provide the hair with optimal nourishment. However, the nutrients do not reach the ends because the hair is washed all the more frequently. Even if it is difficult, try to wash your hair only every two days and switch to a mild cleansing shampoo. This will allow your scalp and hair to recover and regulate sebum production.
When washing your hair, be careful not to wash it with water that is too hot. This is because water that is too hot additionally stimulates sebum production and the roots become greasy more quickly. It is better to treat the hair with lukewarm water and rinse with cold water at the end for good circulation and an extra portion of shine.
Many manufacturers offer special products for oily roots and dry ends. To bridge the time between washes without having to do without a clean feeling, you can use a dry shampoo on the roots. A dry shampoo literally soaks up the greasy roots, leaving your hair looking as if it has just been washed and smelling pleasant.
Care products for dry tips
You can treat dry ends with hair oil or a nourishing fluid, which will make them shine beautifully again and stop them looking brittle and unkempt.
Only apply conditioner to the lengths and ends, as this is where you need extra moisture and protection. You should also be careful not to blow-dry your hair too hot when styling. It is better to blow dry your hair with lukewarm air or even simply leave it to air dry.
