Kérastase Aura Botanica 2.0
In February 2017, Kérastase broke new ground. With the new Aura Botanica series, Kérastase created a product branch that had never existed before under the premium brand: products with almost 100% natural ingredients. With Aura Botanica, Kérastase tried to meet the growing demand for sustainable products.
After one year, we can say that Kérastase has succeeded in placing Aura Botanica on the market as a product series. Initial demand was so high that some of the products could no longer be supplied. After this had returned to normal, however, the series has now established itself and already built up a fan base. The product evaluations show that Aura Botanica is very well received, but also gets some criticism. This is mostly due to the special care concept, which requires a combined application of the products of the series.
Kérastase has responded to this criticism in February 2018 with further products of the series, which we would like to introduce here.
Aura Botanica Bain Micellaire Riche
The Bain Micellaire Riche is another shampoo of the Aura Botanica series - in Kérastase's speech: hair bath. As the name suggests, it is very rich and provides the hair up to 48 hours with nutrients. The product consists of 96% natural ingredients and has a moisturising effect. It does not contain parabens, silicones or sulphates.
Like the well-known Bain Micellaire, the shampoo opens the hair so that it can then be optimally supplied by the existing Conditioner Soin Fondamental. This is the most common point of criticism from customers who used the hair bath solo and then complained about dry, strawy hair. So here's the recommendation: always use shampoo and conditioner together at Aura Botanica for optimum care.
96%? Why not 100%? The remaining 4% are needed to keep the product fragrant and stable. The product is initially only available in 250ml.
Aura Botanica Crème de Boucles
Crème de Boucles is a leave-in cream that contains 99% natural ingredients. It specifically helps to define and shape curls without leaving a dull stiffness. Kérastase says that curls are protected from frizz at 90% humidity for 96 hours, four days. Since probably the least four days sit in the steam sauna, this period will certainly shorten.
In addition to curling, the cream can also be used for normal drying of hair in the air and combined with heaters such as hair dryers or warm air brushes. At the same time, it should offer good heat protection up to 230°C.
The Crème de Boucles does not contain any silicones or parabens. Also here the last percentage point is necessary for the good smell and the stability of the product. It comes in a 150ml size.
Aura Botanica Lait de Soie
The Lait de Soie (silk milk) is quite similar to the Crème de Boucles of its trades. This leave-in cream, on the other hand, has a smoothing and shine-enhancing effect. The "smoothing milk" also consists of 99% natural ingredients, the remaining percentage being responsible for fragrance and stability.
Lait de Soie is particularly suitable for normal and thicker hair. It lets the hair fall softly and with natural movement. Milk can also be used with heat stylers up to 230°C and has a protective effect.
The Aura Botanica Lait de Soie also comes in a 150ml package.
Aura Botanica Eau de Vagues
Last but not least, the Eau de Vagues (wave water) rounds off the Aura Botanica 2.0. As the name suggests, it is intended for the beach. It ensures radiantly healthy waves in the hair and a special "après-surf look". Unlike the new creams, this product comes as a spray from the packaging and is applied directly into the hair. Paraguayan sugar is combined with moisturizing Mexican aloe vera to create a soft, gentle sensation.
This unique combination is sprayed directly into the dry hair and is also suitable as a heat protection up to 230°C. So also for hot beach days! No, of course we are talking about hair dryers and warm air brushes.
The Eau de Vagues contains no salt, no alcohol, no parabens and no silicones. It consists of 99% natural ingredients.
The new Aura Botanica from Kérastase
We are curious whether the new products will be able to continue the success story of Aura Botanica. In any case, the new products already sound good. In the coming days we will test the products together with 50 selected customers of our shop and report on the collected experiences.
In any case, we consider the direction of including natural products in our product portfolio to be the right one. Our experience from customer consulting shows that there is a long-lasting trend here.
