Maria Nila tested

The first thing that caught my eye when I first saw Maria Nila's products was the exceptionally beautiful product design. I was immediately attracted to the mostly pastel bottles and pots in the typical reduced Scandi chic. I was even more enthusiastic when I heard about the Maria Nila philosophy, which has been operating for over 30 years and is truly contemporary and pathbreaking.

As this company is truly inspiring in its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection, Maria Nila's products deserve special interest.

Since I am a fan of cool blonde, I have tried the following products for my blonde, light streaked hair: Maria Nila Sheer Silver Shampoo and the appropriate Conditioner and the hair treatment enriched with silver pigments Maria Nila Colour Refresh in the color pearl silver. To additionally care for my slightly damaged hair structure, I have also integrated the product Maria Nila Structure Repair Leave In Cream into my test. And last but not least as a meanwhile great dry shampoo friend, the Maria Nila Cleansing Powder. In the past I myself had the prejudice that dry shampoo is something for much older generations, but far from it. How grateful I was for this little miracle when I had to rush out of the house in the morning with my screaming, sleepless child and there was no time left for a relaxing shower with an extensive hair care program. Instead of the flat and slightly greasy roots, I rushed off, at least visually and freshly (and well) styled. With hair that didn't look like my morning stress, but with hair that at least simulated the image of a well planned woman with a fluffy roots and as freshly washed. Many thanks at this point to the inventor of this wonderful product idea!

Maria Nila Produkte

The first impression of the Maria Nila products is very good from a purely visual point of view. The pots and pans decorate my bathroom, and just by looking at them, they exude a good mood. They are simply very decorative. In practical tests I am surprised that the shampoo foams very well, which is often not the case with naturally oriented products without sulfates. In fact, one of the properties of sufates, apart from the cleansing effect, is that they make the product foam intensely. However, the salts extracted from sulfuric acid are often so aggressive that hair and skin dry out and skin irritation can occur. So I am glad that I do not have to do without my beloved foaming experience in this case. The smell is fresh and discreet and does not seem particularly perfumed. The conditioner is easy to apply and the hair feels nice and soft when washed out.

What I noticed positively was that, unlike some other silver shampoos, you do not look like a gravedigger after washing your hands. The color pigments often appear so intense that they are deposited unattractively under the fingernails and skin folds of the hands. This is pleasantly not the case here, although I did not wear gloves when using them. Also a clearly visible purple cast or partially purple colored strands fortunately do not appear in the later result. Nevertheless, I notice that my hair really needs the full care program, as it still tends to knot after shampoo and conditioner. After using Maria Nila Structure Repair Leave In Cream, this becomes much better and my hair is also better protected against the upcoming heat of the hairdryer.

With additional use of the mask, they are really soft, smooth and shiny, but despite the extensive care, they appear airy and not at all weighted, which is unfortunately otherwise quickly the case with my thin hair. My light strands of hair shimmer cooler, so that the slightly reddish golden tinge in my hair is a bit more subtle, as can be seen on the photos.

The Maria Nila Cleansing Powder has become my little favourite for in between. I must admit that I have always used dry shampoos to spray, but the powder for sprinkling clearly has its advantages. On the one hand due to the higher yield. On the other hand, you don't have the problem with clogged spray heads, which can happen every now and then, especially with dry shampoos. However, one has to get a little closer to the type of dosage. The first time I used it, my bathroom looked like my kitchen after baking biscuits, when my child sprinkled icing sugar on cookies with the greatest pleasure but smallest hit rate. But after a short time you get the hang of it and the Maria Nila Cleansing Powder immediately gives your hair a fresh look. The roots become airy and matt, but without looking brittle. An absolute must have when time is sometimes lacking and a refreshing effect needs to be applied to the hair quickly.

I have been really enthusiastic about the products while using them and will definitely continue to integrate them into my hair care routine. Precisely because the company represents values that are important to me personally, I am pleased to be able to make a small contribution towards healthier and more sustainable hair cosmetics by using these products. Many of the Maria Nila products are also available in travel sizes, so you can easily try out which product suits you best. We hope you enjoy discovering them!
