Sun protection for your hair - the best beauty tricks for the holidays

Summer, sun, beach and sea - Where is the problem for the hair and has the hair to be specially protected in summer?

It goes without saying that we cream our skin with UV filters before sunbathing, but we often don't think about our hair. We should do this, however, because hair, just like skin, is at the mercy of the sun and therefore needs a lot of protection and extra care, especially at high temperatures.

The high UV radiation affects the hair, making it dull and brittle. The sun dries out the hair strongly, because it roughens and damages the dandruff layer of the hair, thus the moisture is extracted. This in turn is extremely important for smooth and shiny hair. Colour loss and split ends can also be the result of too much sunlight.

Particular care should be taken with coloured or blond hair. The hair structure is already more stressed by the colouring or lightening and can be damaged by intensive sunbathing. Bleached, stained or poorly combable hair can be the after-effects.

We have summarised a few tricks and tips on how to protect and care for your hair from sun, salt and chlorinated water during your holiday, so that you can shine with a stunning mane even on holiday:

Tip 1
After each bath in the sea or in the pool, it is recommended to rinse the hair once with fresh water. Thus chlorine or salt water, which strains the hair additionally, are rinsed out.

Tip 2
Spray the hair with sun protection sprays every now and then. These sun protection products wrap themselves around the hair like a protective film and provide additional moisture.

Tip 3
Before jumping into the cold water, it is best to shower or rinse your hair once with fresh water. If the hair is already wet, it absorbs less chlorine or salt water.

Tip 4
Never expose your hair to intensive UV radiation without protection. This is especially true in the middle of the day, when the sun shines most intensely. This means that it is best to wear a headgear. Sun hats, scarves, bandanas or caps protect the hair and scalp from direct sunlight.
