What is a creping iron?
A creping iron consists of two matching plates that are corrugated. Ideally, the plates are coated with ceramic or Teflon to protect the hair during use. The appliance is connected to the power supply and the temperature is set. The plates then heat up and you're ready to go!
What should you look out for when buying a crepe iron?
It is important that the two plates are coated with ceramic or Teflon so that the hair is not damaged. The plates should also be as wide as possible so that you can make faster progress. It is best to use a professional model, which is also used in hairdressing salons. Although these appliances are somewhat more expensive, they have the latest technology, are robust, durable and designed for frequent use. A temperature control is also recommended so that you can adjust the creping iron precisely to your hair. If you have fine, thin hair, the temperature can be set lower. If you have very thick, full hair, the temperature of the creping iron can be slightly higher. How do you use a creping iron?
As preparation, you can wash your hair as normal and blow dry it well.
